Bret Michaels (born Bret Michael Sychak, March 15, 1963) is an American musician, actor, director, screenwriter, producer and reality television personality. He first gained fame as the lead vocalist of the glam metal band Poison. Besides his career as lead singer, he has several solo albums to his credit, as well as one chart single. He appeared in the VH1 reality show Rock of Love with Bret Michaels and its sequels, and as a judge on the talent show Nashville Star. He was the winning contestant on NBC’s reality show Celebrity Apprentice 3.
Michaels loves to ride custom Harleys and dirt bikes. He loves to hit up the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and headlined with his old band Poison at the Buffalo Chip a few years back. He even claims the loss of his virginity involved a motorcycle, a blanket, and an 8-track player. Being a biker and a rock star, he’s also pegged with the bad-boy image that comes with the territory.
Bret Michales has had a series of health problems such as brain hemorrhages, emergency appendectomy, a stroke caused by a hole in his heart, and he’s diabetic. However despite medical complications, he has raised money for the American Diabetes Foundation.
Motorcycling is therapeutic, good for both the mind and soul. Michaels states, “Just don’t tell my doctors if you me out out riding.”
